Another Giant Stride As LASU Don, Dr Anjorin Joins World Society for Virology

The Lagos State University (LASU) Don and Head, Department of Microbiology, Dr. Abdul-Azeez A. Anjorin, has been selected as a Member of the World Society for Virology (WSV) Training and Career Development Committee.

This was confirmed in a letter dated March 8, 2024, and signed by the renowned Virologist, Founder and Chairman of the Governing Board for World Society for Virology (WSV), Professor Ahmed, S. Abdel-Moneim.

It is indeed another giant stride that has registered the name of the State University on the global fame of honour in the field of Virology and Medical Science in general along with other top ranking universities whose Great Scholars will be interacting with Dr. Abdul-Azeez A. Anjorin of the Lagos State University.

Dr. Abdul-Azeez will serve as one of the few Africans on the Committee of the World body as featured on the official website of WSV.

Recall, that the Lagos-born Virology Scholar from Imota Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, was recently awarded the Global Virus Network (GVN) training scholarship for a joint training at the Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health Baltimore, and the National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, United States of America.

WSV aims at fostering scientific collaboration, offering free educational resources, advancing scientists’ recognition and careers, and providing expert virology guidance.
